Hi guys.
I am new here and still in the process of getting my first gliders. While looking on Gumtree, I came upon something really scary. The worst part is I don't know how I can help! I may be wrong so I am sorry if that is the case. I also don't know what else to do, so if this is the wrong place for posting, I am sorry. I came across this ad: http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-other-pets/eastern-pretoria/sugar-glider-male/1001089916320910217793709
Now, firstly, I am new to Gliders, but I have never seen one with eyes like that! It seems almost like they let the Gliders eye-condition go unnoticed. If this is normal and just genetic, I apologise, but I have never seen this before, and I am worried! Especially because the cage it seems to be in is so extremely small! It doesn't even seem like there are any toys or even space to walk, let alone glide...
I was informed by the poster that he "just got one for his wifes birthday but she is allergic" so he has to sell it. I am really concerned about this little guy as he in the care of people who genuinely seem to not know any better.
I would have bought him, however I would be a first-time owner and I fear that my lack of experience could make things worse. I really hope someone on this forum would consider buying or somehow rescuing him.
I know this forum is filled with people who are safe-havens for gliders. Please someone, can we try and save him? I don't know if he will last under those conditions he's in if he isn't rescued soon... =(
